What is a Brain Freeze

Brain Freeze is a sort of slang term coined

to describe the headache that often comes about from eating cold foods, especially if they are eaten rapidly. Sometimes called icecream headache, cold headache, frigid face,http://bbs.qi8i.com/viewthread.php?tid=30229&extra=, and other similarly descriptive names, Brain Freeze scientific name of sphenopalatine ganglioneuralgia just doesn describe it very well, cheap oakley sunglasses, I afraid.

In a sense, Brain Freeze seems to "trick" the body. Normally, when the body senses cold environment or contact, blood vessels in the area constrict (forcing the blood to flow more slowly, which helps to reduce bodily heat losses),michael kors bags. During Brain Freeze, the body does just as it is supposed to do, however, after the blood vessels have constricted and return to normal size, the nerves in the area sense that as pain, and send that message to the trigeminal ganglia (sensory tissue in the temporal area of the skull), which, in turn, translates into pain which is referred to the forehead and behind the eyes, win 7 product key, and other localized areas of the head.

Typically, Brain Freeze does not last more than a few minutes, windows 7 ultimate upgrade key, except in extreme cases, windows 7 anytime upgrade key,http://223.4.183.3/bbs/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=1468328. Some reports tell that placing the tongue against the roof of the mouth may help relieve Brain Freeze. Others tell that cupping the hands around the mouth and nose and breathing in and out a few times can help. Still others tell that sipping room-temperature water may help.

In any case, probably the best way to avoid Brain Freeze is to be aware that it is most commonly associated with the speed with which cold items are consumed, and eat those kinds of things accordingly!
