The committee did recommend some changes and urged a greater investment in the departments, particularly to reverse a "deteriorating" ratio of students to professors.But the most critical comments were reserved for Ben-Gurion, where the committee was "concerned that the study of politics as a scientific discipline may be impeded by such strong emphasis on political activism" and found the department "weak in its core discipline of political science in terms of number of faculty, curriculum, and research."Individual faculty members at Ben-Gurion have in the past come under fire for their anti-establishment views. For instance, Neve Gordon, a professor of politics and government, has been repeatedly criticized by university leaders and politicians for his statements in support of a boycott of the country.
