As of this writing,New Release, the Collinsville assistant communitydirector has sent many emails to parties, inviting those who are"passionate" to attend a Planning Commission public forum on May12. The notice was sent by Cassie Meyer, administrative assistant,Community Development Department.Through all of the window-dressing describing the invitation, Ibelieve this is a special meeting of a subsidiary body regulated bythe new Illinois Open Meeting Act. I doubt if the commission hasprescribed reasonable rules for recording the proceedings. Nor do Ibelieve any person wanting to express commission improvementopportunities will be permitted to address public officials asmandated. As in the past, attendees' responses will be controlledand will invite civil disobedience from those who choose not to belemmings. When the 2010 Treasurer's Report is finally published, the smalltype will hardly be readable and salaries will be bracketed,www.fashionjeansamerica.com.
