Vast panoramas are impressive, but sometimes I think I like the smaller scenes in nature the best — the purple ridges in a sand dune by the beach, or the delicate curve of individual fern fronds and wildflowers.

Anyone who knows me or visits my blog can probably tell that the natural world is one of my biggest inspirations.
Pinecones picked up on hikes in the woods perch on my mantle and desk, river rocks hum with the echoes of summertime camping trips on my windowsills, and plants twine wildly on almost every table and bookshelf in my apartment. Finding ways to bring bits of nature inside, both at home and at the office, is important for me to stay feeling grounded and alive in a busy, stressful world. But what about my walls? I always need some inspiration there, too.? So it's no surprise that a theme emerged while compiling some of my favorite photographs, prints, and paintings for this post: art inspired by nature.
