Save Money And Stay Connected
Skype is an application that serves a main purpose of communicating over the internet. Primarily, we are talking about an audio call between two computers that have Skype installed,http://nakuz.com/home/space.php?uid=1047414&do=blog&id=3083446. But it is not only that. Just keep reading, prom dresses 2013 mermaid style! I first installed Skype as a friend of mine leaving in Spain would ask me once an again if I had it so we can talk. When I finally did, I was impressed on the quality of the audio calls we could have, not paying a single dollar. I live abroad. I mean, I am currently living in a different country from the one I was born and raised, so calling a family member or most of my friends involves a long-distance call. I used different types of calling cards, and even a service in which they would call me to a local number and I would receive my call in my cell for a monthly fee. Still,http://www.eurekawildcats.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=8550&PID=9077#9077, I was spending quite some money and my calls were rare. After my first Skype experience, it was obvious I needed to tell my family and friends to install it. I know talk home everyday not spending a dime. I just need my computer and internet connection and I'm done. I am also getting back in contact with other friends that are living abroad, mainly in Europe. All this for free. Granted, some times the communication does not work at its best, but the same happens with calling cards and long-distance calls in general. I am still amazed with the overall quality of calls. You may think Skype is not for you as you only make local calls. Well, you may still be lowering monthly phone bills or minutes to your cell. In fact, same that cellphone, it may come to replace a line at home. But wait, cocktail dress, I haven't finish. In fact, I'm not even starting! Skype can work with multiple parties at the same time, so you can conference in a lot of people,http://www.11php.com/bbs/viewthread.php?tid=843355&extra=. You can chat while you talk, send pictures or documents at the same time, and even share your screen! This last feature I'm just starting to use, but it has a great potential. My mom was having a problem with her microphone, and I was able to guide her through control panel and all that by looking at her screen, half a world apart,http://www.weddingdress2013.co.uk! I can't do that with just a phone. Video calls is the other great feature. Did you use to consider it was "futuristic" to think of having a call where you can see the other person and vice-verse. Well, it's here and it's free. Think of the possibilities. I'll give you an example. We had a wedding at home and one family member could not attend as he could not make the trip. Well, with Skype, a webcam and an internet connection, he saw it live. We even had a chair for him and introduced him to everyone. It was one of those Kodak moments! Last, but not least, you can purchase credit and call land lines. This came in handy a couple of months ago, as we needed to call relatives in Switzerland who do not have Skype. The price per minute is extremely low, no connection fees, you see on screen how much you are spending and the same credit you can use to call any country. As you can see, I'm one of those happy customers. But most, I wanted to share the fact that this service exists, it's free, easy to access, and may help you keep connected with people that live far. In these global times, being able to get connected on a daily basis helps those like myself that live abroad and miss the family. |
