Hunger Games' on Facebook

24 Apr - The film adaptation of sci-fi hit novel by Suzanne Collins entitled "The Hunger Games" has recently launched its very own official Facebook movie fan page,http://Genomebuilder.com/index.php/User:Ksswcimlrs#protective_and_loyal, as announced in a press release by film distributor Cathay-Keris Films.

Anticipating fans will be able to receive updates on the movie's latest updates beginning with the character roster that is slowly filling up with confirmed cast under the "Who Are The Tributes" feature at the official page which recently unveiled the cast for District 1 District 11's Tributes,http://www.2013spring.co.uk.

"The Hunger Games" chronicles a dystopic Capitol which requires its twelve subjugated districts to pay tribute in the form of a teenage boy and girl, forced to participate in the annual "Hunger Games," a fight-to-the-death live televised event. Katniss Everdeen's little sister is chosen in the lottery to participate and Katniss volunteers to take her place.

Apparently Katniss is a character that was thought to be one of the most sought-after roles in Hollywood as not one, but three young Academy Award nominees had been competing for the role with the likes of "True Grit"'s Hailee Steinfield, "Little Miss Sunshine"'s Abigail Breslin and "Winter's Bone" actress Jennifer Lawrence. Lionsgate has revealed that Lawrence is confirmed and already signed on for the role.

Meanwhile, Josh Hutcherson ("The Kids Are Alright") has pushed aside fellow contenders Alex Pettyfer ("I Am Number Four") and "Weeds"'s Hunter Parrish for the lead male character Peta Mellark while actor Liam Hemsworth ("The Last Song") is confirmed for the role of Gale Hawthorne,http://flow.360watcher.net/bbs/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=108100.

The official Facebook fan page had also unveiled newcomers Dayo Okeniyi and Amandla Stenberg as District 11's Thresh and Rue while Jack Quaid and Leven Rambin have been cast as District 1's Marvel and Glimmer, respectively.

The movie, which will be helmed by "Seabiscuit" director Gary Ross, is intended to be followed by the other two film adaptations of Collins' novel trilogy which include "Catching Fire" and "Mockingjay".

"The Hunger Game" is slated for a 23 March 2012 release in Singapore,long cocktail dresses. However, a tentative release date is yet to be confirmed for Malaysia.
